About
Providing fire/rescue services since 1892 and EMS since 1971 Vermillion Fire EMS Department is a combination department running just over 1,200 calls for service a year. We provide Fire/Rescue/EMS services to the City of Vermillion, University of South Dakota, and also rural Clay County (fire/rescue services to 195 square miles and EMS services to 300 square miles). The department maintains and ISO class 3 in the city and an ISO class 6 in the rural area.
