SOUTH DAKOTA CHAPTER IAAI 2023 FIRE INVESTIGATION CONFERENCE

DCI Special Agents Adam Eggers and Isaac Voss will be presenting a Photography class to include camera nomenclature, terminology, fire scene photography considerations and more. Practical exercise will allow attendees the opportunity to practice what they have learned as such attendees are strongly encouraged to bring their own camera.

Special Agent Adam Eggers started with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office in 2016. He was hired with DCI in 2019 and has worked Major Crimes since being hired. His first 3 years of service were spent in Pierre and the last 2 years in Sturgis.

Special Agent Isaac Voss is assigned to the DCI Vermillion Field Office where he works Major Crimes. In 2020, he became a Certified Crime Scene Investigator after he successfully completed the 10-week National Forensic Academy program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Jeff Wiedow began his career in the fire service as a wildland firefighter at Wind Cave National Park in 1985. He is currently working for South Dakota Wildland Fire as the Assistant Fire Management Officer at the Hot Springs District Office. He is also the Fire Investigation Program Manager for South Dakota Wildland Fire. He has been with South Dakota Wildland Fire for 10 years and been investigating wildland fires for 9 years. He was a structure firefighter for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Hot Springs for 23.5 years. He has been a member of the Hot Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years.

FI-110 Wildland Fire Observations and Origin Scene Protection for First Responders

The primary emphasis of this course is to teach sound wildland fire observations and origin scene protection practices that enable first responders to a wildland fire scene to perform proper origin scene protection procedures. The course is presented by short lectures, electronic presentations,exercises, and class discussion.
