2024 South Dakota Annual LODD Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service (28th Annual)

Description
The Annual SD Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service to Honor those who Paid the Ultimate Sacrifice in the Line of Duty protecting South Dakota, her Citizens and Visitors will be held Saturday afternoon. The service will be held outside at the Memorial Location near Capitol Lake or in the case or poor weather conditions it will be held in the Capitol Rotunda.
General Order of Service:
- Posting of the Flag: Pipes & Drums and Honor Guards
- Opening Prayer
- Welcome: Charlie Kludt, SDFA President
- Remarks: Paul Merriman, SD Fire Marshal Office
- Memorial Message
- Reading the Roll of Honor and Placing of Roses
- Presentation of Fallen Firefighter Flag
- Moment of Silence in Respect and Honor
- Reading of the Firefighter’s Prayer
- Benediction
There is NO-COST to attend the annual Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, we just ask that those planning to attend register ahead of time so we can plan appropriately for seating needs and other logistics.
