The 2022 national wildfire season was considerably slower compared to the past few years we have had, much to the disappoint of many including me! This unfortunately didn't allow for a lot task book work to be done, but many were able to persevere through severity assignments and traveling to the far west. It is easy to get discouraged as a trainee when you have to bring a task book into another fire season, but I hope 2023 has a lot more to offer! Even with a slow year, 62 volunteer fire department members completed their task books and were cer-tified. It is great to see so many firefighters moving up in their qualifications! I hope you all are having a great “off season” and I look forward to seeing you at trainings this spring!
