Truckless Truckie
Saturday Full Day Classes
Location
Black Hills State University Center
Summary
Class Spotlight: Truckless Truckie (HOT) - The StoneFace FOOLS/Pheasant Country FOOLS will be teaming up to teach a fun, interactive, hands on class that will include all of the following.
Objectives:
• Review basics of forcible entry, ladders, search, and ventilation
• Teach intermediate to advanced level real world application of above skills
• Reinforce new knowledge and skills through application during realistic scenarios
Description: There are certain tasks that must be accomplished on every scene.
Traditionally these tasks are broken down between Engine Company Tasks and Truck Company Tasks, yet the majority of fire departments in the US do not have a designated Truck Company. In this class we will discuss how we efficiently and aggressively perform these essential tasks while operating from an engine.
This class will have stations covering the essential truck company functions to include: forcible entry, window and door based searches, ventilation, and the many applications of ground ladders. We will utilize structures to present a realistic learning environment to teach the skills presented and finish the day with a set of challenging scenarios. Students should expect to work hard, be challenged, and come away with a deeper understanding of what it means to be a “Truckless Truckie”.
