Certified Firefighter Practical Skills Course – Hands on ALL DAY

Summary
This class is geared to students who are either currently enrolled in a class, planning to take an upcoming class, or need to finish up some skills. Several skills will be completed and signed off in this full day course. PLEASE BRING YOUR GREEN CERTIFICATION CARD WITH YOU TO THIS CLASS. If we have students who need to test out on their skills, please contact Kyle Moser @ 605-881-2247 and we can plan to have a testing station set up as well. We WILL NOT be doing live fire training with this class. All area certified firefighter class students should plan to attend this class. Full Structural PPE and Breathing apparatus is required for this class. Instructors: Training Chief Nate Sturgeon and LT/Paramedic Lance Hammrich, Aberdeen Fire and Rescue. More instructors will be helping the day of the school, but Nate and Lance will lead this course.

Fentanyl and Other Street Drugs - AM only (3 hours)

3 hour - AM Only

Summary
This class is geared to all ranks, whether Fire or EMS. This class will discuss fentanyl and various other street drugs that are out there, and first responders should be aware of.

All Things Auto Extrication - AM only (3 hours)

3 hour - AM Only

Summary
This class is open to all ranks, Fire and EMS. This will be a classroom-based course discussing everything from electric vehicles to school bus extrication. Discussion will include all aspects of vehicle extrication. Some real world school bus accident experience will also be discussed from an area department who has had a school bus accident response.

Auto Extrication HANDS ON - PM only (3 hours)

Summary
This course will give you the opportunity to put what you learned in the morning session to work. There will be multiple vehicles including a school bus to get hands on experience with. This class requires full PPE, structure, or extrication.

Aircraft awareness – PM only (3 hours)

3 hour - PM Only

Summary
From spray planes to medical helicopters, this afternoon class will touch on the basic safety features of the aircraft that we see in rural South Dakota. We are hoping to have multiple types of aircraft to get an up-close look at. EMS professional welcome.
