The training is an eight hour course- 4 hours of classroom comprised of awareness and general knowledge. The second leg of the day is 4 hours that is discipline specific. Fire/ EMS will learn points specific to extrication, fire suppression, and other things pertaining directly to Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. Towing and recovery personnel will concentrate on the recovery and vehicle handling scenarios. Cost is $250 per person.

We have received great feedback from others that have attended this training elsewhere and are happy to include those who are interested in South Dakota or that would potentially work with our responders here. This high impact 8.0 hr. course is designed to equip all First Responder’s and Tow and Recovery Providers with the knowledge, skills and abilities to safely and compliantly interact with hybrid and electric vehicles. Students will experience hands on sessions specific to First Responders and Tow and Recovery Providers.
